I’ll Have My Chocolate Thanks!

Published on: July 8, 2016

In today’s world of contradictions, it is difficult, if not impossible, to heed an “expert” advice in any field, be it diet, relationships or spirituality to name a few. What is hailed as a miracle cure today is just as quickly scorned and discarded tomorrow.

“I have never agreed with my other self wholly. The truth of the matter seems to lie between us.” ― Kahlil Gibran, Sand and Foam

Here are some phrases that are brilliant examples of sharp contradictions:

  • Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder & Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind!
  • A Cat Has Nine Lives & Curiosity Killed The Cat
  • Opposites Attract & Birds Of A Feather Flock Together
  • The More, The Merrier & Less is More

Insight into the two selves within a man clears up many confusions and contradictions. It was our understanding that preceded our victory. – Vernon Howard

I guess in the end it all comes down to our state of mind and our predominant belief systems. What seems appropriate to one individual would be absolutely unworkable for the next. Although it is good to learn from our role models and from ‘industry experts’, it is also prudent to hold your own counsel and be flexible enough to rethink your choices and decisions as newer information becomes available.

The key word, I believe, is moderation in all you do. That and listening to your own self conscious!

All the diet plans and expert opinions can wait. As long as I know I can run 5 kilometers at the drop of a hat, I will have my block of chocolate, Thanks!!

One half the world laughs at the other, and fools are they all – Baltasar Gracián
